Bokashi Bran - Premium Compost Starter & Microbial Inoculant
Bokashi Bran - Premium Compost Starter & Microbial Inoculant
Summary
Summary
Enhance your compost pile or continue feeding your Bokashi system with Bokashi Bran, a microbial blend that speeds up decomposition, improves soil health, and helps control odors.
Packed with a broad spectrum of beneficial bacteria, simply sprinkle it over food scraps to ferment organic waste, support microbial activity, and improve overall soil biology.
Unlike ordinary compost starters, Bokashi Bran contains a diverse consortium of beneficial microorganisms that work together to ferment organic waste, support microbial activity, and improve overall soil biology. It helps process food scraps more efficiently while producing nutrient-rich organic matter that can be used to enrich gardens, raised beds, and potting mixes.
Packed in a heavy-duty, resealable stand-up pouch that features an oxygen-barrier design that helps preserve microbial activity and maintain freshness for up to 12 months.

How To Use:
Indoor Bokashi Systems:
Within your Bokashi bucket, add a layer of food scraps. Add in the Bokashi bran until the most recent layer is covered, and continue this process until your bin is full. Once filled, leave the system to ferment for 2 weeks and avoid exposing the system to air. We recommend draining the liquid every 2-3 days, which can be used as a "compost tea" or liquid fertilizer once diluted. Once the 2 week fermentation is finished, you can add the material to your regular compost heap, directly into your soil, between plants or in a large, unplanted pot.
Outdoor Composting Systems:
Dig a hole to the middle of your compost heap and add a handful of Bokashi bran. Fill the hole with more compost and tarp the entire heap. For Bokashi microbes to work, they need an anaerobic environment. We recommend leaving it covered for at least 4-5 days, without turning.
You'll know the Bokashi bran is working when you see white fungal growth.
Important Note: Store in a cool, dry place and reseal after each use to maintain microbial activity.
