Bijou Build Modular Play Systems, Canopies and Swings
Yards change — a trampoline arrives, the patio gets rebuilt, the kids outgrow one corner and colonize another. The kits in this collection are engineered to come apart. Bijou Build hangs its range on a patented solid steel hinged top hub — the Mainstay play system and the Haven canopy are each built around one — and both fold down for seasonal storage or a move across the yard.
Inside the Mainstay Kit
The Bijou Mainstay is the base the line expands from, and Bijou calls it the world's first collapsible modular outdoor play system. Installed, it stands 9.5 feet tall on a 7.5-foot base, with five feet between each foot. The box holds one climbing wall, one 5-foot hover platform, five anchor feet, fifteen U ground stakes, two carrying straps, one solid steel hinged top bracket, integrated LED lights and all hardware; wood is the one thing you supply.
The panels change the structure's job: UV-protected Teslin made from recycled materials, interchangeable, so the same frame works as a climbing tower, a play fort or a shaded sensory retreat depending on what is clipped to it. Bijou puts assembly at approximately one hour, and the frame collapses afterwards. An integrated solar panel drives over 100 LEDs, which keeps play going after dinner without an extension cord.
Shade First, Swing Optional
The Bijou Haven is the same idea configured as an outdoor shade canopy: three solid panels of Bijou's signature UV-resistant fabric, the patented powder-coated hub, five anchor feet, five ground U stakes, star base straps, stainless steel hardware and a solar panel with 100 LEDs. It sits stably on grass, patios and decks, and because hanging accessories attach at the hub, there is no overhead beam to build first. The listing is explicit: the Haven does not include a swing. The Bijou Nest is the version that does — the Haven plus the 5-foot Sky Hover Swing, eight hanging ropes, a hanging strap with delta carabiner and two outdoor rectangular pillows.
Two Platform Swings and an Arm to Hang Them From
The Sky Hover Swing is the large one: a 5-foot, 60-inch platform of premium weather-resistant fabric over a heavy-duty steel frame, carried on eight reinforced ropes for balanced support with siblings or a parent and child aboard. Bijou is direct about its limits — an accessory for the Mainstay, Haven and Swing Arm, not intended for standalone use.
The Kubix is the simplest piece here — a swing you hang, not a structure you build. Solid steel hexagon frame, UV-resistant Bijou fabric, adjustable ropes that follow a growing child, support up to 250 lbs. On one hanging point it spins; on two it swings flat. Bijou lists it for indoor or outdoor installation from any properly rated support — a Mainstay, an existing swing set, a sturdy tree branch — at ages 3+ with adult installation.
Swing Arm Adaptor: A collapsible A-frame whose heavy-duty steel hinged bracket quick-snaps onto the Mainstay and converts a Bijou shade canopy into a portable, modular swing set. Stability crossbar, anchor feet with U ground stakes, storage straps, hanging hardware for two swings, support up to 250 lbs combined. Frame, swings and lumber are separate, and adult assembly is required. Bijou's compatibility list names five swings; Eartheasy stocks two of them, the Sky Hover and the Kubix.
Where the Wood Comes From
Four of these ship in two versions, with wood and without: the Mainstay, the Haven, the Nest and the Swing Arm Adaptor. If you source it yourself, the Haven and Nest listings give the spec — extra-durable pressure-treated 2x4s from a local lumberyard, standard 10-foot lengths, no special cuts. Bijou's reasoning is that local lumber has already acclimatized to your environment. The Mainstay listing says only that wood is required and may be bought locally or added at checkout; the Swing Arm Adaptor states that lumber is not included.
