Every kit in this collection arrives pre-cut. Interlocking panels, no sawing or cutting on site, and the listings put the build at a few hours for someone with basic DIY skills. A Harvia 8kW heater, sauna rocks, a bulkhead light, roofing and a traditional felt sauna hat come in the box, plus a Redwood Outdoors doormat with the sauna purchase.

Which Model Fits the Yard

The Cabin (4-person) is the one built for a tight backyard. Two-level seating lets you move between hotter and cooler air without touching the heater, and a gravity venting system keeps heat circulating evenly through the room. The Barrel (6-person) is the classic shape, and it ships with a flat floor kit custom-built for that shell, so the footing underneath sits solid. The Summit (6-person) is the Scandinavian one: extra headroom, clean minimalist lines, and it reaches traditional sauna heat in under an hour. The Garden (8-person) is the biggest here, with an extra-wide two-tier bench you can lie down on, large tempered glass windows, and open storage under the benches for the bucket and ladle. The Duo (2-person) is the most compact, designed for urban lots and couples.

Hemlock, Treated With Heat

The Summit, Barrel and Duo listings all specify hemlock treated with heat: thermowood on the Summit and Duo, heat-treated hemlock on the Barrel. That treatment is what earns the material its place outdoors. Thermal modification improves the wood's stability and its insulating properties, raises its resistance to rot and fungi, and leaves it free of resin, which matters in a room you run hot several times a week. The Summit, Cabin and Garden listings also carry Redwood Outdoors' FSC® note: Forest Stewardship Council certification, meaning wood from forests managed to protect biodiversity, the rights of Indigenous communities, and long-term forest health. The Cabin and Garden pages name no wood species, so ask if that matters to you.

KIP or Spirit: Two Ways to Run the Heat

Each model comes with a choice of two Harvia 8kW heaters, both built in Finland, which is why every shell appears twice in the grid. The sauna is identical either way; what changes is how you start it. The Spirit carries the same premium on all five models, so shell and heater are separate decisions.

Harvia KIP 8kW: Two dials, nothing to pair or update. One sets the temperature, the other switches the heater on through a delay timer you can set up to eight hours ahead, and a standard auto shut-off cuts power after 60 minutes. The stone cavity is generous, which is what counts if you like throwing water on the rocks.

Harvia Spirit Wi-Fi 8kW: Wall-mounted, with the touchscreen control pad outside the sauna and the Xenio CX45 Wi-Fi remote kit in the box. Start it from the MyHarvia app on the drive home and the room is hot when you get there.

Before the Pallet Arrives

Power is the one thing the kit does not cover. An 8kW heater is hardwired, and these listings say nothing about the circuit it needs, so have an electrician price the run from your panel before you buy. Exterior dimensions, weights and lead times are not published here either — worth asking about while you are still choosing the spot.
