Made in the USA from kiln-dried Port Orford cedar, a durable and naturally rot-resistant wood, these raised garden beds are sturdy and easy to assemble.
Made in the USA from Oregon grown Port Orford cedar - the strongest of all cedars - as strong as Douglas fir and more rot-resistant than redwood. These raised beds are sturdy and easy to assemble. Each raised bed is coated with a non-toxic waterproof sealant, which extends the natural lifespan of the wood.
The corners are half-lapped and secured with rust-proof steel rods, which keep the corners from working loose. It's easy to stack the boards to build raised beds in many different heights.
Natural Cedar Raised Garden Beds can be equipped with trim for an attractive finish and increased durability, especially for taller raised beds. The trim covers the lap joints and locks the boards in place to prevent separation on uneven ground. The trim pack consists of pre-drilled 3-1/4 inch wide top rails and corner moldings that attach to the raised bed with included screws.
Please note the duration of the warranty is 3 years for raised beds without trim packs, and 5 years for raised beds with installed trim packs.
The raised bed side boards are made from resawn cedar that's a full 1" thick and 5 1/2" high. Two boards stacked give the raised beds a height of 11 inches. Three boards stacked make a 16.5 inch raised bed, and four boards stacked make a 22 inch raised bed. Raised beds can be stacked as high as 33 inches.
Each size comes with corner pins the same height as the bed you order, so you can put the raised bed on hard ground or a patio if needed, and the tops of the pins will be flush with the top of the bed.
Raised beds 5 feet and longer come with rust-proof steel crossbars, which prevent the longer beds from bowing under the weight of the soil.
These raised beds are made from kiln-dried Port Orford cedar—the strongest of all cedars. It is a fragrant, light-colored wood with even texture and strong natural oils to protect against moisture and fungal decay.
To enhance the cedar's natural rot resistance, the wood is dipped in a non-toxic wax sealant to create a moisture barrier that helps prevent rot and extend its lifespan. This cedar long outlasts most lumber found in stores. Perfect for long-lasting raised beds!
The simple design of these kits allows wood to shrink and swell, for better strength and durability in wet and dry conditions. Hardware like screws and nails eventually loosen as wood ages. Our raised beds assemble with rust-proof steel rods set securely through the ends of each board. So after years of exposure the raised bed won't fall apart, and yet it can be disassembled by hand if needed.
Watch our video below! Raised beds assemble in minutes. Just level the ground, stack boards, and insert corner pins to create a long lasting garden bed for your vegetables and flowers. The corner pins will be the same height as the bed you order, so you can place the bed on your lawn, or on a hard surface.
No tools are required to assemble the basic raised beds. Optional trim packs attach to the raised beds with included screws, so a power screwdriver is recommended. Assembly instructions are included.
Easily build a cloche over these raised garden beds. You can leave the corner pins slightly protruding and then slide some thin pvc pipe over them, bending the pipe in a hoop to the other side of the bed. Then drape clear plastic over the pipe and affix with zip-ties. Now your garden is greenhouse ready!
Update to our assembly video: As of February 2020, our Natural Cedar raised garden beds are made from 1" thick Port Orford Cedar - a stronger, denser and more rot-resistant wood. All of the hardware is now stainless steel. We are no longer using 1-1/2" thick boards and aluminum hardware, as stated in the video.
