The Oya is a porous clay vessel that is planted in the ground to naturally water your garden - reducing water waste and watering time.
Add an Oya before, during or even late into the season. Water radiates out of the Oya covering areas of 2 feet (Small), 3 feet (Medium), or 4 feet (Large).
Overview
Use an Oya watering pot for effortless home garden irrigation. Old is new again with these beautiful and simple water-saving porous clay irrigation vessels called Oyas - traditionally called "ollas." An ancient form of localized plant irrigation, Oyas are planted in your garden to water slowly at the roots, saving water and making growing easy.
Just fill your Oya with water every few days and the rest is taken care of. Plant roots instinctively grow toward the porous clay of the Oya which allows them to take exactly the water they need when they need it, no more no less. The result is less water, easier growing and a more successful garden. Each Oya comes with a custom-fit silicone lid.
Add an Oya before, during or late into the gardening season. The Oya Watering Pot can be easily added in between your existing plants to immediately see water and time saving benefits. Please note, you may still need to surface water for 1-2 weeks until the roots have found the Oya.
Features & Benefits:
- Take care of your watering from patio pots and planters to raised garden beds
- Conserve up to 70% of your garden's watering needs
- Decrease the amount of watering to as little as once a week
- Available in three sizes for any shape or size garden
- Roots will naturally grow towards the watering pot, taking what they need
- Add an Oya to your garden at any time during the growing season
- Silicone lid decreases evaporation and ensures nothing drops into the reservoir
Please note, we do not recommend putting fertilizers into your Oya. Most fertilizers are not 100% soluble, potentially clogging the porosity of the Oya. Instead, apply the fertilizer around where the Oya is buried so that the roots will have easy access to nutrients.

Care & Maintenance:
We recommend removing the Oya watering pot at the end of the growing season to keep it in top shape. Remove plant growth and wash with 10 parts water and 1 part vinegar (a stiff brush can help), then let it air dry before storing.
If you live in a climate at risk of frost, remove it from the ground before the frost and bring it indoors. Due to the porous nature of the clay, the Oya can be susceptible to cracking or shattering in freezing temperatures.
