Overview

The seeds of this welcoming native shade tree feed countless songbirds, including chickadees, titmice, tanagers, cardinals, crossbills, sparrows, and Pine Siskins. Birds may nibble the buds and catkins (flowers), too. Insectivorous birds are not left out! It’s estimated that River Birch hosts an incredible 400-plus species of moth and butterfly caterpillars for their dining pleasure. River Birch is an obvious choice for your bird paradise—give it some serious consideration!

The beautifully exfoliating peaches-and-cream bark provides interest in all four seasons, with the dark green leaves turn an illuminating yellow in fall. The River Birch is resistant to Bronze Birch Borer.

The growers at Bower & Branch understand the fundamental values of patient growing practices, delivering trees in their prime, and ultimately taking the best care of trees so that they have the best start after leaving the nursery.
