Overview

When this majestic flowering trees trades their huge summer blooms for fall seeds, birds come flocking. The seeds are high in fat, making them especially valuable to birds when they need the extra energy the most (whether migrating south or surviving the winter in place).

Audubon® Native Southern Magnolia: Lemony scented blooms followed by glossy red seeds loved by birds. The sturdy branches and evergreen leaves create niches for nesting, escaping from predators, or simply hanging out. Trees will mature to 60-80' tall and 30-50' wide. Best suite to zones 6-10. Look forward to thrushes, waxwings, wood warblers, finches, mockingbirds & thrashers, chickadees & titmice, orioles, cardinals & grosbeaks, crows & jays, sparrows, nuthatches, vireos, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and wrens. 

Audubon® Native Sweetbay Magnolia: Heavenly scented, large, creamy white blooms appear in Spring with bluish-green, semi-evergreen foliage with silver undersides before it transitions to a bright yellow fall color. This low branch tree matures to be 10-35' tall and wide. Suited for zones 5-10. This Magnolia can attract thrushes, waxwings, finches, mockingbirds & thrashers, chickadees & titmice, orioles, cardinals & grosbeaks, crows & jays, sparrows, vireos, hummingbirds, and wrens. This tree has also been used by Spicebush and Tiger Swallowtail butterflies to raise their young.

Care Instructions:

Watering: These trees will need to be watered daily for the first 3-5 weeks; then 2-3 times a week for the remainder of the year until winter. Watering needs may be altered due to extreme weather conditions.

Soil/Conditions: Well-draining, organic rich, moist loams.

Shipping & Delivery:

All Bower & Branch plants are fresh from the grower and shipped in specialized grower packaging. Plants are shipped on specific days depending on your location to reduce days in transit, and are delivered by UPS to your door.
