Overview

Codling moths can infest every apple in an orchard if left unchecked. The worms burrow through the fruit, leaving brown scabs and tunnels. Codling moth worms hatch out of eggs which are laid on the fruit by female moths. The moths emerge 3 to 5 times a year starting soon after bud break in early spring.

Controlling the moths during these key flight times, before the eggs are laid, can effectively prevent worm damage to fruit. The Codling Moth Trap pinpoints these flight times by capturing the male moths which fly at the same time as the female moths. Apply appropriate controls at these peak times.

How To Use:

Package contains two pheromone lures, two traps and hangers. Lures last 4 weeks.

Attach hanger. Grasp trap by top and bottom flaps, and pull apart to form diamond shape. Open lure packet. Using gloves, place one lure on the inside upper surface of the trap. Hang the trap 2-3 feet inside the tree canopy. Place traps in trees 1-2 weeks before bud break in early spring. Check for moths once a week. Recycle or dispose of traps when full.
