Overview
Designed for durability and cleanability, the CoopWorx Water Silo holds 8 gallons of water to keep your flock happy and hydrated. This unique waterer features six water ports with water-tight O-ring seals, stainless steel water nipple pins with integrated drip cups and a roost-resistant lockable hinged lid.
CoopWorx water silos can be used inside as well as outside, and are suitable for all climates, year-round. If you experience freezing temperatures, the water silo is designed to accommodate a water heater. An integrated notch in the hinge allows a cord to be fed through, while the lid is still closed securely.
Waterers are available in either the X-base or single post mounting system that stakes into the ground, making CoopWorx even more rodent resistant.. Water Ports stand 13” off of the ground.

In general, plan for each chicken to have access to about 1 liter or ¼ gallon of water a day. This may change based on the season and size of your birds. With the large 8 gallon capacity (30 liters), the CoopWorx water silo can accommodate a large flock.
Many chicken keepers find that having 6 to 8 birds per watering nipple is a good ratio. This watering silo has 6 ports, combined with an 8 gallon water reservoir, it can accommodate roughly 24-30 birds.
If you have a large run, it may be helpful to have multiple watering and feed stations, especially in warmer weather.
Adding some apple cider vinegar to your water silos can help to prevent the growth of algae in the reservoir, while also giving your chickens a health boost. Use up to 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar per gallon of water.
