The Earthwise 18-Inch is a great mower for smaller lawns. It has both a side discharge and mulching chamber but no grass-catcher. This means if you like to cut your lawn weekly and leave the clippings to fertilize the lawn, this is a good option. If you mow every few weeks, and don’t mind raking the clippings, it might still be a good option for you due to the lower price.
If you want to finely grind up your grass, just walk the electrical mower along slowly and give it time to chew up tough stalks. As the pieces get small enough, they will settle out of the main cutting chamber. If you don't have time for mulching, just set a faster pace and grass clippings will start to come out of the side discharge.
The Earthwise 18-Inch lawnmower has a lever to set the grass cutting height. The single lever height control allows you to cut your grass as short as 1.75 inches tall, or as long as 3.75 inches. The EasyRoll wheels are 7 inches in diameter, with ball bearings for great durability.
The Earthwise 18-inch lawnmower has a well designed Comfort V handle with a cushion grip. It is easy on the hands, and it folds down for more compact storage. The handle-mounted safety blade control and safety key allows you to stop the blade immediately if needed.

- Is it possible to get a grass catcher for it?
- The Earthwise mowers do not come with grass catchers. They are designed promarily as a mulching mower, but do have a side release which sends the grass out for raking.
We feel that mulching mowers are ideal for lawn care since the mulch reduces watering needs while fertilizing the lawn. Mulching mower swill shred the grass so that it falls between the blades of the lawn and doea not leave your lawn looking like it needs raking. It can take a little time for the mulch to work down to ground level. Mulching mowers do not contribute to thatch buildup. - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No

- What maintenance do I need to perform on my Earthwise mower before storing it for the winter?
- There is very little maintenance required for the Earthwise mowers.The blade and the underhousing should be brushed free of grass clippings. Be sure to unplug mower before cleaning. Inspect and coil the cord, then store mower in a dry location.

glad to be rid of the gas mower

My next door neighbor is a retired school teacher. She's been using one of these electric mowers for years. So I finally gave up my old gas beast and got the 12 amp electric model.
It took a few cuts to get used to the cord and figure out the best pattern so it always layed to the one side and behind.
I get behind with mowing and the grass gets tall. This mower blasts through it with no problem. It's not silent, but is clean. No smoke no stink, I'm converted.
Would you recommend this product to a friend? Definitely yes
