The Worm Factory 360 makes it easy to recycle your food scraps and household waste. Worms work 24/7 converting waste into nutrient rich organic fertilizer for your garden. The Worm Factory houses thousands of worms and is designed to expand vertically, allowing a high compost capacity in a very small footprint.
Please note: The Worm Factory no longer includes the moisture meter, thermometer or sprinkler tray. Unfortunately some instructions may still make reference to these items.
Add worms to your order and you will get a voucher inside your Worm Factory for prepaid red wiggler worms! Once you setup your Worm Factory, follow the instructions to claim your worms, and they will be rush delivered to your door!
The Worm Factory 360 is simple to set up and operate. Managing your Worm Factory takes less than 15 minutes a week.
Start with just the bottom tray and bedding material included. Add 1 pound of composting worms and start filling the bottom tray with household waste. The worms will start processing the waste. Once the bottom tray is full add another tray. The worms migrate upward to the newest food source, leaving the bottom tray full of nutrient-rich compost.
As waste is broken down, moisture filters through the system, taking nutrients with it. With the Worm Factory 360, you can harvest this organic liquid fertilizer right from the spigot.
Your first tray will take about three months to be fully composted by the worms. After the first tray, you can harvest compost monthly.
You can use finished compost in your garden, raised beds, planters, or on houseplants. Worm compost adds vital nutrients to your garden soil, conditions the soil to hold water longer, and promotes healthy plant growth.
Mineral rock dust is included to adds nutrients to your finished compost. It has also been proven to be beneficial to the worm composting process.
Worms are low maintenance. They will be happy as long as they are fed, have enough moisture, and kept between 40° and 80° F. Worms should be protected from freezing, direct rain, and sun. Worms prefer the dark – they will burrow into the compost when exposed to light.
Adding food scraps to the Worm Factory is easy. Just open the lid and toss the food in! Add waste from fruits, vegetables, grains, paper, egg shells, coffee grounds, leaves and more. Avoid dairy, meat, and citrus items. Feed your worms about 50% food scraps and 50% fiber (e.g. paper or dry leaves). This creates an ideal environment for worms to convert waste into compost. The goal is to recycle what you usually throw away.
No need to feed your worms every day – just add scraps to your bin as you have them. Worms can survive up to 2 weeks without any new food. They can also eat up to half their weight in food every day! This means that if you begin with 1 pound of worms, they can get through a half pound of food every day.
As your worm population grows, they will process food at a faster rate. Worms reproduce inside the bin according to their space limitations. They will regulate their own population, so you never need to worry about overcrowding your bin.
