Overview

A super premium potting and planting soil, Organic Plant Magic has created a pre-charged potting soil complete with organic plant food, worm castings, and beneficial microbes and mycorrhizae to empower all of your plants to grow their best from the start! Their compact, lightweight, easy-to-carry bag of soil granules expands up to 4x when mixed with water.

Coconut coir, a renewable and more environmentally friendly option compared to peat, is used as the base for this potting mix. Coconut coir helps to conserve water, improve soil structure, and help plants retain nutrients for longer. By using coir in your garden your plants will develop stronger root systems, and become more resistant to disease and weeds.

Features & Benefits:

  • Peat-free, coconut coir based soil and soil amendment
  • Moistened potting mix expands to approximately 3 gallons
  • Coconut coir can hold up to 10 times its volume in water to help reduce watering
  • Pre-charged with plant food, worm castings and beneficial microorganisms
  • Retains and releases nutrients over time
  • Neutral pH of 6.5
  • Soil conditioner for sandy or clay soils
  • Replaces peat moss, rock wool, and perlite
  • Free from chemicals, toxic ingredients and synthetic ingredients
  • Great option for worm bedding in vermicomposters
  • Safe for kids, pets and the environment
  • Made in the USA

What is Coconut Coir?

Coir is a natural by-product of coconut harvesting. It consists of the coarse fibers extracted from the husks of coconut shells, a renewable resource. Coconut coir is screened, washed and graded for premium horticultural use.

How To Use:

This potting soil is dehydrated and compressed for easy handling and storage. Adding water causes the coir to expand up to x4 in size. Soak coir in water for 1 hour before using. It will expand to make up to 3 gallons of potting soil.

Growing Medium: This potting soil can be used in containers as the primary growing medium. It comes pre-charged, with enough nutrients to last about 30 days. After that, we recommend following  a scheduled fertilizing routine. You can also use this potting soil with other soils. The most frequent mixes have a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2.

Seed Starting: This mix is great for starting seeds and propagating cuttings because it maintains a consistent level of moisture and it is naturally weed free and disease resistant. It has a neutral pH of 6.5, and has enough nutrients to support seedlings without the need of added fertilizer for the first 4-6 weeks.

Soil Amendment: When used in sandy soils, coir helps keep nutrients and moisture close to the roots instead of leaching away. When used in clay soils, coir breaks up hard compacted soil, so nutrients and moisture move through the soil.

Composting: Coir fiber is carbon-rich and used to balance nitrogen-rich materials such as kitchen scraps and grass clippings in the compost pile. This mix is a great choice for bedding material for worm composters. It controls moisture and improves the quality of worm castings, which go into your garden.
