Fagor Duo Pressure Cookers come in four sizes: 4, 6, 8, or 10 quarts. All sizes have the same diameter (10" inside diameter) but vary in depth. The 4-quart is 4 inches deep (without lid), the 6-quart is 5.5 inches deep, the 8-quart is 7 inches deep, and the 10-quart is 8.5 inches deep.

This Duo Pressure Cooker is constructed of recycled, high-gauge stainless steel with an encapsulated aluminum bottom. This means that the outside of the cooker is coated in stainless steel with an aluminum core, which guarantees even heat distribution without your food ever coming in contact with aluminum.

What are the Benefits of Pressure Cooking?

  • Fast – Saves up to 70% in cooking time! Your favorite recipes can easily be adapted to cook in 1/3 of the time.
  • Easy – Simply load the ingredients and liquids into the cooker, close the lid, bring to pressure and cook, then release and open the lid.
  • Healthy – Because foods are cooked under pressure, up to 50% more vitamins and minerals are retained. Also, shorter cooking times retain more nutritional values of food as well as the natural color. In addition, it cooks without oil.
  • Safe – Fagor Pressure Cookers have three safety valves that permit any possible excess pressure to escape, so the cooking experience is completely secure.
  • Versatile – All types of foods can be cooked in a pressure cooker – from vegetables, rice, stews, soups, chicken, fish, meat, even desserts.
  • Energy efficient – Because pressure cooking reduces cooking times up to 70%, this means a tremendous conservation of energy.
  • Great taste – The steam pressure breaks down the fibers in food in a very short time, leaving food moist and succulent, with an intense intermingling of flavors.

    • What is the difference between the Duo and Futuro models. the desriptions to not give enough detail.

Also will either 10 quart model hold canning jars larger than a half pint and if so how large ?
    • The Futuro is made in Spain whereas the Duo is made in China.

The Futuro comes with a larger more comprehensive cookbook.

Both 10 quart models can fit up to 4 x 1-quart canning jars in each.

    • I'll mostly be cooking for just two people. What size should I get - 4, 6 or 8 quart?
    • All of the pressure cooker/canner in this set (4,6,8,10 qt) are 10" diameter. They vary by depth.

The 4qt cooker, with the lid off, is 4" deep. The max fill line is 1 1/2" down from the top.
The 6qt cooker, with the lid off, is 5 1/2" deep. The max fill line is 1 3/4" down from the top.
The 8qt cooker, with the lid off, is 7" deep. The max fill line is 2" down from the top.

I think, given you are cooking for two, that the 6qt would be about right.

  • From Judith B at 7/12/17 12:59 PM
    • If the only difference between the 6 qt Duo and the 10 qt Duo is the depth, why can't you can pints and 1/2 pts in the 6 qt?
    • You may be able to can 1/2 pints if they are shorter, but the reason why the 10qt model is ideal for canning is because it's tall enough to clear the pint cans and then some. This extra clearance is needed to handle the intense pressure and prevent any damage or injury.
