- How long must the meter be inserted into the soil before the meter registers moisture levels? Can it be inserted into different areas of the same planter to get a read on moisture in different areas of that planter (most of my flowers are in pots and various large containers)?

- can it be left in the container indefinitely?
- It is not recommended to leave the meter in a container indefinitely, as it is specifically designed for individual test readings. Prolonged contact with moisture may cause it to rust.
