Product Description

2 Stacking Joints included per pack

Stacking joints slide into the Anchor Joints to provide additional height, rotate 270 degrees, and firmly hold 2” x 6” composite timbers in place. The ‘slot’ that the timber fits into will also accept standard 2 x 6 sawn lumber (but not Trex plastic lumber, which is too thin).

If you plan on using your own lumber with the anchor/stacking joints, it is important to note that the actual inside width of the flanges is 1.5". This corresponds with the actual thickness of standard lumber. In all lumberyards and home improvement centers, a "standard" 2 x 6 board is actually 1.5" thick.

Small caps, designed to cover the tops of the topmost joints, keep dirt, sand and other grit from getting into the joints.

Each Joint comes with 4 black zinc-plated steel screws to firmly hold the timbers in place. A power drill is the easiest way to put these screws in. However, some customers find the joints hold the timbers sufficiently and say the screws are unnecessary.

Due to this flexibility, you can easily create your own unique raised garden bed with our timbers or lumber from your local lumber yard. Choose from our complete kits, or design your own with just the pieces you need.

Features & Benefits:

  • The Stacker Joints fasten our long-lasting Composite Plastic Timbers or any standard 2”x6” lumber securely.
  • This two-pack comes with 4 screws per joint (8 screws total).
  • The hinge design swivels 270 degrees to create virtually unlimited designs.
  • The Stacking Joint stake slides effortlessly and precisely into Anchor and other Stacking Joints allowing you to build upward.
  • Made from durable recycled ABS plastic with UV stabilizers.

    • I want to make a 2 x 4' rectangle that will take 2 6" board each side. do I need to order 4 staking joints (2pack) or just 2?
    • You need two 2-packs of anchor joints for the first row. If you want to go a second row (two 6" boards total), then you need two 2-packs of stacking joints also.

  • From Ann at 5/17/11 9:06 AM
    • I am interested in building beds at least 3 feet high. Will these stacking joints allow me to do this?
    • Yes, the stacking joints will allow you to build raised beds to any desired height. However, bear in mind that as the bed gets taller, the increased weight of the soil will put pressure on the bed and can result in the bed bowing outwards in the middle of a long (over 6') span.
This can be easily corrected by putting a cross-support across the center of the bed. You can use 1/2" flat aluminum bar stock (available at hardware stores, and will only cost a few dollars) for this. Drill a hole at each end of the bar and screw it to the top of the second-to-top board of your beds. Then add the top row of boards. Once the bed is filled with soil, this bar will disappear from view.

    • What are these garden bed anchors made of? Like will they rust in time or are they made from something like stainless steel?
    • The Raised Garden Bed Stacking Joints and the Raised Garden Bed Anchor Joints are made of high-density HDPE platic. They will not rust or rot, and they will not break down under extended sunlight.

Best raised garden joints I have found

By K on 5/26/11

All my reviews  (1)

I bought 6 sets to build a 4'x8'x 1' raised bed. Never using these before I was very pleased at how easy it was to attach them to 2x6 boards. My vegetable garden is doing fantastic. The product is very sturdy and the ability to shape the garden any way I want is also fantastic. I plan to extend my garden another 4' next year and will definitely buy these joints again.

buying more corners right now. have made my own beds for years using recycled boards from a demo co near here. problem always was the corners. screws don't hold more than a couple years, nails are worse. tried lag screws into a corner stake which worked but some stakes cracked. this hinged corner system is a good one. but i drilled two more holes in each tab and don't use the center one. i prefer two screws per tab to hold the boards better against twisting. and use stainless screws.
these plastic corners are fast for building the bed and feel like they'll last a long time.
