Choose between 4'x4', 4'x6', 4'x8', or 4'x12' beds. Each one has a choice of three heights: 11", 22", or 33" inches tall.

Dimensions:

All boards are standard surfaced 2x6 with actual dimensions of 1.5"x 5.5", and two or more boards stacked on top of each other give the raised beds their height of 11". If you order the 22" height version, that's equivalent to adding another bed, except it comes with double-length pins. The 33" height is three beds stacked upon each other, with triple-length pins. You'll notice the prices are better the higher you go!

• Greenhouse ready - you can leave the corner pins slightly protruding and then slide some thin pvc pipe over them, bending the pipe in a hoop to the other side of the bed. Then drape clear plastic over the pipe, and affix with zip-ties.

Rot-Resistant Cedar:

Raised beds are made from Port-Orford cedar—the strongest of all cedars. As strong as Douglas Fir and more rot-resistant than Redwood. Port-Orford cedar (also known as Lawson cypress) is a fragrant, light-colored wood with even texture and strong natural oils that help protect against moisture and microorganisms.

Port-Orford cedar's superior strength and durability means these raised beds last many times longer than most lumber found in stores. In normal conditions, we estimate a life-span of 30+ years. And that's likely a conservative estimate. It really is an extraordinary wood—perfect for long-lasting raised beds!

Innovative design:

These beds are made from untreated kiln-dried Port-Orford cedar, a rot-resistant wood that can be painted or stained, or left unfinished to gray naturally. The simple design of these kits allow wood to shrink and swell, for better strength and durability in wet/dry conditions. Hardware like screws and nails eventually loosen as wood ages. Our beds assemble with rust-free metal pins set securely through the ends of each board. So after years of exposure the planter won't fall apart, and yet can be disassembled by hand if needed.

Add a Greenhouse or Cloche:

You can bend flexible piping over the corner pins (don’t push them all the way down if you want to do this) to provide support for a shade cloth or greenhouse covering. Try pipe over the pins on the north side of the bed, and tie string for climbing plants like beans or vine tomatoes. The beds come with extra long pins for exactly this purpose. If not needed, they can also be staked into the ground to set flush with the top of the planter.

Assembly:

Just level ground, stack boards and insert corner pins to create a long-lasting garden bed for your flowers and vegetables. No tools necessary. Assembly takes just minutes. The pins can be hammered into the ground so they're flush with the top of the bed.
