If you’re looking to replace your conventional wrapping paper this holiday season, Wrappily provides a recyclable & compostable option. Most wrapping paper cannot be recycled because it's dyed, laminated, or contains non-paper additives. In the United States, newsprint is mostly made from recycled paper using the least amount of chemical agents to change the consistency or quality.

Will the ink smudge? Yes, a little. The printing process conserves energy by not heat sealing the ink, nor does it use any additional chemical-based sealers. However, these soy-based inks absorb more thoroughly than petroleum-based inks.

What print quality can I expect? Using old web presses gives this gift wrap a distinct feel, and these wraps retain those signature sawtooth edges iconic to newspapers everywhere. In some cases evidence of the four-color registration leaves hints of itself. With Wrappily the process is part of the product, and the beauty is in the imperfect, crafted-looking result. Please note that these do come folded, and will show the creases.

Can I recycle Newsprint? Yes, it is 100% recyclable! Newsprint can be recycled up to seven times in it’s lifecycle if you are not able to compost it. If it does end up in the garbage under the optimal conditions, it will completely decompose in roughly six weeks.
