When a squirrel climbs onto the SquirrelStop, the increased weight starts the motor and spins the feeder for 20 seconds, causing the squirrel to jump off. Squirrels quickly learn to leave your feeder alone, allowing birds to enjoy their food without disruption. Because birds are significantly lighter than squirrels, they are unable to trigger the SquirrelStop, even if several birds are on the feeder at the same time.
The SquirrelStop works with any hanging feeder that weighs up to 10 lbs. It’s easy to use, and requires no assembly. Simply hang the device where both the SquirrelStop and your feeder will be at least 16 inches from the nearest object. Fill your feeder with seed, ensuring that its total weight is still less than 10 lbs. Hang the feeder from the SquirrelStop, and turn the device on. When it’s time to refill the feeder, switch off the SquirrelStop before removing the feeder. The device operates on three D-cell batteries (not included).
