Product Description

Uses only 7 watts of energy, lasts 50,000 hours, and produces light equivalent to 50-watt to 60-watt incandescent bulbs! Comes in Cool color. Not dimmable.

The EarthLED ZetaLux has just achieved another milestone for LED technology by becoming the FIRST UL Listed and FCC approved LED light lamp for general household illumination. The UL listing further affirms the advanced safety technologies built into every ZetaLux. In addition, the UL listing now allows the use of the ZetaLux in facilities and buildings where this certification is required.

The ZetaLux wastes very little light achieving over 95% luminary efficiency. In short, this means when installed in a typical lamp or down light, the ZetaLux doesn't cast all of its light towards the lamp shade or the object beneath it. No light is directed below the bulb where it is not used. In fact, near the center of its beam the ZetaLux even outperforms traditional 60 watt incandescents.

Every single component of the ZetaLux was considered during its development. Its large aluminum heat sink is the perfect shape for optimal heat dissipation allowing the ZetaLux to remain only warm to the touch even after running for days. The plastic base that houses the ZetaLux control circuitry is made of flame retardant plastic while the globe that covers the LED emitter is virtually unbreakable. The ZetaLux contains no hazardous substances and is fully RoHS compliant.

The ZetaLux has been tested in extreme conditions: in frigid -50 degree frost all the way up to scorching 180 degree heat. Even in a steamy room with 95% humidity, the ZetaLux performs perfectly. If you have an enclosed fixture outside, like a post light or downlights on your deck, this is a great light for those applications too.

30-Day Money-back Guarantee.

The ZetaLux has a comprehensive 2 year manufacturer's warranty. If after 30 days you're not completely satisfied, simply return your bulb for a full refund, and all you pay are the return shipping costs.

  • From G. Walker at 7/1/10 8:33 PM
    • I am using 65 watt bulbs in recessed light cans. Would the ZetaLux LED 7 watt bulbs work in this situation.
      Thanks
    • The Zetalux will produce less light than the 65 Watt incandescent bulbs. It might be a good idea to order just one of them, test it, then order more if it's sufficient. The Zetalux is not dimmable, either.

If you need a dimmable downlight, you might look at this bulb: http://eartheasy.com/energy-efficiency/energy-efficient-led-lighting/lumiselect-par-20-dimmable-led-bulb-9-watt-warm-white
Keep in mind, however, that it produces less light than a 65 watt incandescent as well.

  • From arjun at 8/7/10 9:59 AM
    • how many led lamps do we require of this type in an area of 150 square metres.
    • When estimating how many 7-watt ZetaLux LEDs will illuminate an area of 150 square meters, the simplest measure is to compare with a 60-watt incandescent bulb. If you are already using light bulbs for this area, add up the total combined wattage and let us know. This would make it easier to do a comparison for you.The height of the ceiling (if you are using ceiling hung fixtures) and the nature of lighting requirement (e.g. task lighting, general area lighting) need to be factored in. It would seem that 20 bulbs may be needed, but this is just an estimate. • I am looking at replacing the current 3-way light bulbs in a number of old lamps in my home. A number of the lamps have small harps that have prevented me from replacing them with the compact florescent bulbs that I can currently find in retail stores that are too large (bulbs 6-7 inch length or two wide) . What LED Soft White light bulbs do you recommend to replace the following bulb/harp combinations:

50-100-150 Watt with a bulb length under 5 inches
70-120-240 Watt with a bulb length under 5 1/2 inches
100-200-300 Watt with bulb length under 6 inches

Also are jumbo base 100-200-300 Watt bulbs available for some antique floor lamps.
    • The ZetaLux 7 watt bulb dimensions are 5.46 in (138 mm) Diameter: 2.71 in (68.9 mm). It is 50 - 60 watt incand. equivalent.

The ZetaLux 2 Pro 7 watt bulb dimensions are 4.21 in (107 mm) Diameter: 2.36 in (60 mm). It is 60+ watt incand. equivalent.
The ZetaLux 2 Pro is smaller than the original ZetaLux, so it fits in the same fixtures as a standard incandescent.

The EvoLux SH LED 13 watt bulb dimensions are 4.44 in (113 mm) Diameter – 2.55 in (65 mm), with 100 watt incan. equivalent.

These LED bulbs are not three-way. They will, however, work in three-way fixtures. They will deliver the same output at any setting in a three-way fixture.

These bulbs are available in cool or warm light.

Jumbo base bulbs are not available in LEDs to our knowledge.

  • From bl at 3/17/11 1:02 PM
    • Is $35.95 the cost of one bulb? If so how can anyone afford this?
    • Yes, $39.95 is the cost for a single ZetaLux LED light bulb.

It sounds way too high-priced for a light bulb, but it will save money when compared with a typical incandescant light bulb. Your basic electricity costs go down because the LEDs give the equivalent illumination but at a much lower wattage. Also, over the lifetime of the bulb, it also costs less than the incandescants you would use during that time.

Here is a page with several charts which illustrate how LEDs are cost-effective as well as energy-saving:

    • Do you find this question helpful?  Yes  No
  • From Terry at 4/3/11 7:10 PM
    • Can LED lights be used outdoors during cold weather? Or outdoors at all? We can't use CFL's outside in coldweather especially, even in protected light fixtures. Are LED any different?
    • Yes. The ZetaLux LED light bulb has been tested and proven outdoors at efficient at extreme temperature on both ends of the spectrum. It has performed adequately in temperatures as low as -50 and as high as 180 degrees.
