Rustic Cedar Raised Garden Bed - Two Sizes

This Rustic Cedar Raised Garden Bed is easy to assemble, and pleasing to the eye. The bed is made from Northern White Cedar, a variety known for its strength and ability to withstand rot and insects.

This raised bed can be used to grow flowers or vegetables. The sides are 3/4" thick and measure 8.25 inches high, so you will have enough soil depth for most shallow-rooted plants. The posts are 16 inches tall by 3.5" square, and are pointed on the bottom tip so they can be driven 8 inches into the ground.

Assembly:

Each corner stake is driven into the ground, and the side panel slides down into the groove on the stake. No hardware is needed. This design works if the soil you're driving the stakes into is compact. If it's soft, avoid this design because the weight of the soil in the bed will cause the stakes to move outwards, and the side panels might slide out of the groove.
