The new Cold Frame Single acts as a miniature greenhouse that helps you get a jump on the growing season. Plant in containers indoors, then move the containers into the cold frame to ‘harden them off’ once the plants are large enough. Or plant directly in the ground and the cold frame will insulate the seedlings until the season’s warmed up. When growing small plants in temperate climates, you can leave the cold frame over them (propped open for ventilation) throughout the summer.
The clear polycarbonate cover (made of SnapGlas) will provide maximum light and just the right amount of ventilation. The twin-wall polycarbonate sidewalls provide enough insulation to protect the seedlings during cool nights.

- What temp will this cold frame protect up to -10?
- The Cold Frame - Single is constructed with twin-wall polycarbonate which gives good insulation value. It is difficult to give a specific temperature that will cause the plants to freeze because wind chill is a factor in determining the actual temperature affecting the cold frame.
Since you\re email suggests that you live in Canada, it is likely that this cold frame will be effective in early spring and through the fall, but not intended for year-round plantings. - Do you find this question helpful? Yes No
