The perfect fit for raised garden beds! The Deluxe Cold Frame is designed to be left in your garden all year long. It’s easy to lift up and place over a raised garden bed, and will protect your plants from extreme cold.

This means you can start seedlings early in the spring and prop the cold frame up in the summer to provide the perfect indirect light so your garden flourishes. Keep it propped up in the fall to hold off the frost and extend your harvest. During the winter, put it all the way down to protect plants from frost. Some gardeners overwinter their potted plants in it.

The Solexx™ frame is made from a pultruded, super-strong composite material giving them the strength of steel with none of the disadvantages like corrosion or rust. Plus, they don't conduct cold like metal frames do.

The cover is made of Solexx twin-wall panels (3.5mm thick). Because they are twin-walled, they insulate better than conventional plastic. They’re also very durable, and won’t crack in freezing temperatures, or collapse due to heavy snow or hail.

The hoops are made of flexible PVC with UV inhibitor.

The Deluxe Cold Frame is only 33 pounds, so you can move it around your garden as needed. Due to it’s light weight, however, you may need to stake it down if you live in a windy area. This is easy to do, and instructions are included.

R-value of 2.10
R Factor is the measurement of ‘insulating ability’ of the material. The higher the R Factor number the greater the insulation value. An R-value of 2.10 is good for a cold-frame.

U-value of 0.48
U Value is the measurement of ‘heat loss’ through the material. The lower the U Value the less heat is escaping. A low U-value of 0.48 is good for a cold frame.
