This handsome planter box is made of clear-grained Western Red Cedar, a lightweight wood which is naturally resistant to rot and outdoor weather. This planter can be left outdoors year-round. Over time, the wood’s natural finish will gradually take on a silver hue. If you prefer to retain the reddish color, a natural exterior oil such as tung oil finish may be applied.

This planter box has a base of 1" x 4" cedar wood slats which provide adequate drainage. A plastic pot or inner container is recommended for containing the soil. If you want to fill this planter with soil for direct planting, you should cover the inside bottom with a double layer of landscape cloth to retain the soil.
