Assembly

Assembly can take a day, and it is helpful to have someone to help hold pieces in place.

Only necessary for very cold climates or areas with very heavy snowfall.

Closeable Base Vents

Base vents are helpful in assuring that there is air continually flowing throughout your greenhouse. This will create cross-ventilation and will ensure proper air flow to prevent mold in damp climates, and keep the greenhouse cooler in hot climates. Each base vent is 4" H x 9" W.

Tie Down Kit

Tie down kits are used to anchor your greenhouse. Tie down kits will keep your greenhouse secure and stable even in the strongest winds. Assembly and disconnection is simple. Each kit includes 4 anchors.

Wire Shelf Racks

This greenhouse comes with the shelf frames, but not the shelves themselves. Solexx makes powder-coated steel racks that fit neatly over the frames. These frames are very strong, drain water, and allow air to circulate. If you don’t want the added cost, you can lay boards across the frames to act as shelves. This option includes all the wire shelves needed to cover the frames.

Solar Vent Opener

The solar powered opener closes and opens the louver vent automatically in response to temperature changes. The piston is coated with a mineral wax that expands with a temperature increase. As the wax cools, the piston lowers and gradually closes your vent. Install this opener on the Easy-Flow Louver vent included in this greenhouse, and you won’t have to remember to open or close the vent if the temperature changes dramatically.

About Solexx frames

Solexx™ frames are made from a pultruded, super-strong composite material giving them the strength of steel with none of the disadvantages like corrosion or rust. Solexx™ white color reflects light inside the greenhouse making 100% of it available for your plants. Wood or metal frames cast shadows keeping some of your plants in the dark. Wood frames can wick water, which contributes to disease. Metal frames transfer cold into the greenhouse in the winter creating condensation and robbing vital heat. The hanging rods and the bench frames are steel reinforced, and coated with a rust-proof finish. All Solexx greenhouses are freestanding, and do not need site preparation or special foundation – just level the ground and assemble it.

About Solexx panels

Strong and shatter-proof, double-walled Solexx™ panels will protect your seedlings and plants from strong winds, hail, driving rain, snow, and frost. With these insulated Solexx™ panels, you will keep heating costs low (if you plan on heating it) while extending your growing season from early spring to late fall. Unlike other greenhouse coverings, Solexx adds more than double the UV inhibitor as the competition, and it is added as the plastic is processed, so it is not just a coating. Solexx™ panels create an evenly diffused light so no matter where your plant is in the greenhouse, it will benefit from optimal growing conditions. This helps prevent your plants from ‘burning’ in the direct sun.

Solexx panels are available in 3.5mm or 5mm thickness. The 3.5mm panels are recommended in most areas because they provide more light transmission. The 5mm panels add support and are used in very cold climates (for added insulation) and for areas in high altitudes that experience very heavy snowfalls. Select the desired thickness on the left drop-down menu. The 5mm thickness adds approximately 8% to the cost of the greenhouse (the price will automatically update).

About Solexx (Adaptive Plastics, Inc.)

Adaptive Plastics, Inc , manufacturer of Solexx greenhouses and greenhouse covering, was first introduced to corrugated polyethylene plastic in 1986 and began manufacturing insulated twin-walled fruit harvesting totes for growers. After experimenting with the corrugated plastic as a hot house covering and seeing how well tomato plants grew under the material, the idea to use the panels to design a hobby greenhouse kit was born. University testing verified that the flutes in the twin wall plastic diffuse the light and capture it from various angles – accelerating the growth of plants. From there, with backgrounds in biology and plant science, they set out to design an affordable, strong, and practical greenhouse that would be easy to use for all gardeners – the Solexx Greenhouse.
