Sawyer Point Zero Two Water Purifier with Bucket Adapter Kit

The Sawyer Point Zero 2 allows you to adapt nearly any plastic bucket (not included) into a large-volume gravity purification system. The Sawyer Point Zero 2 filters down to 0.02 microns, which removes protozoa including giardia and cryptosporidium, bacteria and even viruses. This exceeds EPA removal requirements. Filters 1 million gallons.

This system is very user-friendly. To assemble, simply cut a hole in the side of a bucket near the bottom with the included hole cutter, attach the adapter with o-rings to the hole, elevate the bucket over a clean water bottle or pot and allow gravity to filter the water for you.

The filter can be fully maintained in the field by backwashing with the filter cleaner. Backwashing means that you force water through the filter in the opposite direction that it would normally flow, removing any matter that may clog or slow the filter. This makes the system ideal for supplying large volumes of water in emergency situations.

The Sawyer system uses biological filtration, which removes 99.99% of all bacteria including salmonella, cholera and E. coli and all protozoa including giardia and cryptosporidium, and it removes viruses. The Sawyer system removes turbidity and harmful biological contaminants, but will not remove dissolved solids including chemicals and heavy metals.
