  • Does the base price include one 3qt. pan?
  • The base price doea not include the pan. The round 3-quart enamelware pot, measures 9.75" x 5.75" and can hold a 3 lb. bird or roast. Only one pot can fit in the oven at once. 1 for $16.95, or 2 for $29.95.

  • i see folks squatting over this thing to use it...can i put it up on a table? does the outside get hot like a barbeque does?...thanks
  • Yes, you can set the oven on a table. The sides do not get hot and remain safe to touch.

  • How environmentally friendly is the manufacturing process of these ovens?
  • Sun Ovens are made in ELburn IL. We do not have any information indicating that the manufacturing process is environmentally friendly in any particular way. However, the use and proliferation of Sun Ovens is a huge net gain from an enviromnmental perspective, since it does not require fuel for cooking.

  • What is the available space inside the oven that can be used for cooking? How wide/long/high a pan can fit in there?
  • The back of the Global Sun Oven's oven chamber is 11" high, the front is 7" (average depth 9"). Door opening is 14" square

    Can both be used in the oven at one time?
  • The cookie sheets are each 11" x 7" x 1.5", and are made with heavy-gauge steel and non-stick coating to make cleaning an easy process. They can be cross-stacked in the oven to increase the amount of cookies you can make in one batch. The 3-rack dehydration kit can also be used for your baking needs.

  • Will the solar oven work function properly on a sunny day, but during cooler weather (i.e. fall, early spring, winter)?
  • Yes, the solar oven will work year round regardless of the temperature.

  • Do the conditions have to be bright sun to work. Does overcast make it unusable. Also assuming Bright sun is needed. How many hours needed to cook anything or even boil water.
  • The Global Sun Oven will work even in overcast conditions, meaning that it will work all year round. The time required to cook in a Global Sun Oven is comparable to cooking with a wood or charcoal fire.

  • R there any reason why commonly avail pans , pots, nonstick & cast ironware shouldnt b used
