The Envirocycle Composter/Compost Tea maker also makes 'compost tea', a rich organic liquid plant food highly valued by gardeners and farmers. Up to 5 gallons of this nutrient-rich tea is collected in the unique base of the composter. It can be drained into a small bucket by opening the cap on the base.

The compost drum is indented for easy gripping and rolling. A lockable lid prevents access to the compost by small animals and pests. The small size and distinctive design suits today's urban lifestyles and fits perfectly on balcony or patio. If your compost is too wet, check to make sure the drainage holes on the drum are facing downwards so the compost tea can drip out and into the catchment system. You may have to add more 'brown' materials (dead leaves, shredded newspaper, sawdust, etc) in order to get the perfect consistency.

How to Use

How to make solid compost with the Envirocycle Composter:

To add biodegradable materials to the compost bin, simply unlatch the lockable flip-up door and add a 50/50 balance of brown dry materials and green wet materials. (Brown materials include leaves, dry grass, shredded newspaper, and other natural products. Green materials include fruit and vegetable peels, egg shells, coffee grinds, and plant trimmings.) Securely close the door and lock the latches. Rotate the drum three times a week to ensure perfect mix and proper air circulation. When your compost has matured, you can simply remove the barrel from the base, place it on the ground, and roll it to any location in your yard. Unlatch the door or temporarily remove it completely to spread the solid compost on your trees, garden, and lawn.

How to make liquid fertilizer with the Envirocycle Composter:

In addition to solid compost, this efficient compost bin also produces liquid compost "tea." Small openings in the drum allow this rich organic liquid to drain into the base, which can hold up to 5 gallons of liquid fertilizer. When you're ready to tap the liquid, you can unscrew the central cap to drain it directly into the ground or unscrew the front cap and attach a garden hose or empty the base directly into a watering can. It's best to dilute the liquid with 10 parts water to create an effective fertilizer for your indoor or outdoor plants.

The Envirocycle Composter can be used all year round. During the winter months, move the composter into the garage, onto your balcony, or close to your home's door for easy access. Continue to add waste but don't turn the unit. Freezing breaks down fibers in organic material and will accelerate decomposition in spring. During the warmer months of the year, a typical cycle for finished solid and liquid fertilizer takes four to six weeks.
