The 15-watt DirectLED FL LED tube replaces traditional 40-watt T8/T10/T12 fluorescent tubes. Comes in a pack of 24 LED tubes.
The pin distance for the T8 is the same for T10 and T12 bulbs, so the T8 will fit in any fixtures that currently use T8, T10, or T12 fluorescents.

Ballast Free Installation For Even More Power Savings.
The DirectLED FL Series does not require the use of a ballast, thus allowing you to save even more energy. And if you’re used to hearing the ‘buzz’ or hum of your fluorescent lights, that will be eliminated when the ballast is no longer used. As an added benefit there is no ballast to break or fail ensuring even longer life. No ballast also means that the DirectLED FL can be used in T8, T10 or T12 fixtures for the ultimate in compatibility. Installation is simple but does require basic wiring knowledge. Simply disconnect or bypass the ballast during installation to install the DirectLED FL. If you do not feel comfortable with this type of basic wiring, please call an electrician.
DirectLED FL Utilizes 300 high power LEDs to provide 1500 lumens of quality, flicker-free light.
Key Point: Note that fluorescent tubes emit light in 360 degrees, and most of that light is blocked by the fixture and is thus wasted. LED tubes produce light from only one half of the tube, which faces downward in order to direct all the available light to the right area.
Choose between Warm, Neutral, or Cool color temperatures. Choose between Frosted finish (if you aren’t going to use a plastic cover over the fixture) or Clear finish if you are going to put a cover over the fixture.

- Will the LED lighting be enough or bright enough for a Hair Salon?
- If you have been using the traditional 40-watt T8/T10/T12 fluorescent tubes for your shop, then you will find these 15W LED tubes to be just as bright, and without any flickering or humming. I think you will find these a higher quality of light than the fluorescents.

- My existing fixture has ballasts. Will have to rewire & how? IF I rewire, will the fixture be safe if some one puts back an old tube, by mistake?
- The ballasts will be removed from your fixtures as part of the retrofit to LED tubes. The wiring is changed since the ballasts are not used. The LED tubes come with a detailed instruction page which shows the re-wiring scheme. It is recommended that rewiring be done by a licensed electrician.
Once the fixture has been retrofitted to LED configuration, the old fluorescent tubes will no longer work in the new fixture.

- The lumen rating of my old tubes is twice the lumen rating of the LED tubes. How is it that you claim the light level will be the same? Aren't all lumens the same? Will the light level with these lamps meet the IES recommended levels that my old system was designed to meet?
- Fluorescent tubes do have approximately double the lumen output compared to an LED tube, but the light throw is 360 degrees where light loss can be up to 40% within the fixture or not providing 100% of the light output towards working level (that takes away approximately 40% of the lumens). In addition, fluorescent tubes produce UV light which is captured by the lumen measurement instruments, but is not visible with the human eye, photopic vs scotopic. Those two issues render the DirectLED tubes comparable to a standard T8/T10/T12 fluorescent lamp.
