I never truly believed until recently. Only way to learn is the hard way I guess. But as far as saving the Earth goes... I don't think we need to save the Earth, It will chew us up and spit us out, it's been here millions of years before us and it will be here millions of years after us.

We are just reaping what we have sown. WE did this to us....what with all the garbage that we have been throwing into the canals and brooks...going to the rivers then the seas... all those harmful chemicals that have opened a hole in the sky. We cannot stop the inevitable. The end will definitely come. We just DON'T KNOW WHEN...and if anyone says otherwise... oh well.... let history prove them wrong.

Individual actions can make a difference - we are a group of individuals. I absolutely agree with you Greg. I really feel that at least in the UK, where I live, there really is a paradigm shift taking place - each individual's acts will be seen by other individuals and so on - it is becoming a part of society to care about being green. I'm actually in the solar panel business, and they're getting more and more popular - there are even studies showing them having a contagion effect - if one house gets them, there is a significant chance neighbours will and so on!

This in today's news (Christian Science Monitor):
A wildfire in Arizona that has blackened an area half the size of Rhode Island, prompted the evacuation of some 2,000 people in its path, and is threatening long-distance power lines that serve New Mexico and Texas, is the latest poster child for what some scientists see as a long-term trend toward larger, longer-lived wildfires in the American West.
