Open net salmon farming in BC has been terrible for the wild stocks. Hopefully this closed pen system will keep the diseases and sea lice from spreading to the wild salmon stocks, and prevent escapes of the farmed salmon.
Overall, we'd be better off if our wild stocks went to sea and fed themselves, grew fat, and returned to our rivers, than now where a few major corporations control a resource that belongs to everyone.
