Interesting how no one has said anything about diesel. People routinely get 50+ MPG. Actually if I'm not mistaken there is a 3 cylinder VW (in europe) that gets close to 75 MPG on diesel. Sounds like a no brainer if you can do the math. Next car I buy is going to be a diesel, probably a VW.

Thank you to the consumer paying homage to the company that started it all ... Ford! The word reliable and Toyota go hand in hand but I take pride in owning a dependable, fuel efficient hybrid ... produced by a company whose roots are firmly planted in American soil. Cash for clunkers delivered a heavy blow to American automobile manufacturers given their stigma as gas guzzling, "My truck's bigger", mammoth vehicle producers. And granted, Ford has taken it straight to the face by not accepting a government bailout but more power to them. Having the foresight to market NEW fuel efficient vehicles is what gave them the edge they needed to stay afloat. The Fusion is testament to American ingenuity and is a step towards making hybrid vehicles more appealing. I mean, lets face it, the Prius hasn't won any beauty pageants... Bottom line: Toyota, congratulations on producing the worlds most sought after hybrid car. Ford, you're at the forefront of the American Auto Industry; keep it up, we're all very proud Americans and we would like to keep it that way.

Well I am pleased to see two Ford products on the list, this company is awake to the new realities in automobile technology. We are going to test drive the Fusion hybrid when our local Ford dealer gets them in stock. I want one!
